Kirkland Transit Center

about the project

Replacing an existing 22-year old facility, the new transit center provides six new bus shelters that can accommodate future growth. The transit center is a five minute walk from Kirkland’s retail and commercial center Kirkland Urban.

The landscape architecture design features a trellis and plaza that celebrates the facility’s connection to downtown and creates a ceremonial gateway into Peter Kirk Park, the City’s central open space. Pedestrian amenities include new street lighting, a variety of seating options, bicycle racks, public art, street trees and landscaping, wayfinding and transit signage system.
