A new 40-story condo building owes much of its design to Julia Nagele, one of few women in the world to shape such a tall tower.
This new multi-modal transit hub includes commuter rail, bus transit center with transfer plaza, paratransit, bus layover area, and amenities for bicyclists and pedestrians.
The Tukwila Sounder Train Station design is inspired by the rail infrastructure on the site. Steel supports bolster the shelters and laminated glass windscreens run along the back and side walls of the shelters to shield commuters from the wind and rain. Canopies offer overhead protection and provide lighting. Patron amenities include bike storage, informative signage, and kiosks that afford quick access to commuter information.
