STATION AND NEIGHBORHOOD CONNECTION

The Northgate Parking Garage is primarily below grade, providing program space to the Northgate Mall / commercial center on the above floors. The garage connects to the Northgate light rail station north entrance via a tree-lines plaza, providing a pleasant atmosphere and convenient access for station users. A pedestrian bridge links this plaza to the commercial node, promoting quick access to and from the station. The garage has two points of vehicular access: one from 1st Ave NE and the other from 103rd NE. This facilitates traffic flow and reduces traffic congestion in the neighborhood.

THOUGHTFUL MATERIALS

Finish materials are selected that enable the garage architecture to blend well with the adjacent station structure. The south facade, which is partially above grade, includes a vegetated green wall and gabion wall to fully screen the cars from view while giving vitality to the space.
